Beyond Mediocrity
I confess. I despise the word, mediocre. Mediocrity is worse than any four letter profanity or compound curse words strung together in sequence. Mediocrity implies complacency and average ho-hum existence. Mediocre means average, uninspired, middling. Who trains to be average? Who works on personal growth to be uninspired? Why work on getting better to land at middling?
All of life is teeming with grace and beauty. Take a look around you. Take a gentle look inside. Life, both within you and around you, beckons an energy toward that something more, toward that deeper meaning, toward the better possible, toward the impeccable good.
The Perspective of the Possible
Mediocrity is like a comfort zone – a squishy center of non-growth. Nature is constantly inspiring beauty and splendor. There is nothing mediocre about creation. Let the wonder of life move you to reach for a level of exception. Allow the beauty of creation to inspire you to grow toward excellence.
In the great eye chart of life, see with the lens of possibility. Let go of the thick glasses of mediocrity. Step into the opportunity of the extraordinary. Do not settle for ordinary. There is so much more to life. Seize the moment, just this day.
