How do questions help you linger in the pondering? In the wandering of life?
I savor questions. I love the pursuit of questions in the search for understanding. For me, questions are a tool for prayer, for digging deeper into the mystery of life and in the treasure hunt of seeking insights.
The mystery – that which we cannot fully articulate or comprehend, and that which we stand in awe. We are still left wondering.
The Wandering of Life
Questions widen our perspective on spiritual matters. They are a push-off point to a deeper level within the heart. The questions provide energy, more power for the soul-searching quest. They help us get to the next cairn of awareness in our hiking adventure through life. Questions also help us slow down, urging us to take our time and allow the answer to unfold in due time.
What questions help you in your unique life expedition?
Ask and Then Pause
Remember the pause after the question. Allow space for the answers to emerge. It is like throwing a heavy rock into deep water and then watching the ripples disperse across the body of water.
Answers come to us when we are ready to receive them. Waiting for the response happens over time, sometimes in brevity and other times over a lifetime. The pause nurtures the mindset for receiving the wisdom.
What helps you be present in the waiting, in the time between the question and the answer?
Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books that are now written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer. – Rainer Maria Rilke
