Scratch: Writers, Money, and the Art of Making a Living by Manjula Martin.
Over the past several weeks I have been reading books on the topic of writing, seeking ways to improve my skills as a writer. To my surprise, the seeking of improvement in writing has lead to deeper insights about strengthening personal growth in other areas. Through interviews and the gathering of essays, Manjula Martin collects the advice and wisdom of several contemporary writers on what it means to eek out a living as a writer today, living in the balance between work and money. Below is some of the advice that can be applied to other areas of personal growth.
“In every state of their careers, working writers are in a constant state of negotiation: work and life, art and commerce, writing and publishing.” – Manjula Martin
