What three things around personal growth are you working right now?
Three things. Psychologists recommend that humans can intentionally focus on three to four subjects. I am not talking about multi-tasking or task-switching the items. I am talking about focusing on three areas of personal growth you want to work over a period time.
Areas of Personal Growth
There are multiple categories around personal growth. For example, there are topics around relationships, sexuality, hobbies, finances, social networking, parenting, spirituality, faith, and fitness to name a few.
What three areas interest you at this moment?
Three areas I am currently grokking are these: Leveraging time, fostering creativity, and expanding growth mindset. At the base of these three items is finding spirituality in everyday life. These areas of personal growth forge my inner compass toward self-improvement as well as the truth north toward living my best self.
Ways to Focus
Some of the ways I focus on my three areas:
- Reading – I treasure learning and delving into the topics via books, articles, or podcasts. These methods of reading help me expand my knowledge and understanding in these areas.
- Conversations with others – I spend time discussing with and listening to others throughout my circle of friends. We often share how we are struggling and growing in these areas.
- Practice – I practice my creativity through photography and writing. I work on time management and productivity skills via a daily and weekly review. My growth mindset deepens when I intentionally work on how I can grow in my daily living. Likewise, I practice paying attention to the Spirit in the “holy curiosity” (as Einstein calls it), engaging a mindfulness of God (Love) in the ordinary moments of everyday life.
What three things help you grow toward living your best self at this stage in your life?
