Intentionality and Gratitude
Two words help me focus throughout the day – intentionality and gratitude. Intentionality is about living with purpose and paying attention to how you want to live the day with wholehearted drive. Gratitude is a mindset, an awareness of thanksgiving for that which is before you, for those who you encounter in your life, or for what you experience throughout the day.
Each morning, when I go to work, I drive past a small lake on my way out of the neighborhood. When I can, I make a point to stop and take a photo of the lake. It is more a ritual for me, a reminder to stop, to pay attention, to breathe in a thought of gratefulness, and to set my mindset on the day.
