Recently, I offered some career advice to my younger self. Sticking to this theme, what life advice to my younger self would I give?
To my younger self, I want to say to you, keep living life in the present moment. Do not think too far ahead into the future, and do not worry too much, either about the past or what is ahead of you.
Life Advice to My Younger Self – It’s not about Control
Know what you can control in life, which is very little. The reality is that the only control you have is control over yourself and how you respond when life happens to you. This choice is yours and yours alone – big responsibility to own. We often try to blame our responses with excuses or on others, thinking they are the cause of our actions. It is only you who is responsible for your actions. The truth is we choose to let people get under our skin, yet, we are accountable for our actions and reactions. Own that early in life, and it will save you a lot of heartache.
Self-Care is a Top Priority
Keep taking care of yourself. Self-care goes a long way later in life. Make the most of each day, each moment. You will never get back the time of the present. The goal is to have a lifetime of memories filled with gratitude and not a collection of experiences etched in regret. Live each moment with purpose and intention.
You – A Unique Express of the Divine
Know you are amazing work of art created by God no matter how you name and relate with your higher power. Embrace your goodness and wholeness throughout your body, soul, and mind.
There is no one like you, and no one will ever be like you – past, present, or future. Make the most of this incredible responsibility and call in life to be your authentic, unique, best self.
As always, I believe in you and have faith in you.
Love,
