You only have this moment right now to live life fully. How will you live it? How are you moving forward in the direction of the present?
In what ways are you focused on what is before you right now? Are you remembering the past? Are you pondering the future? A little of all three?
Life happens in the now, in real time of the present. You choose how to make the best of it.
Too Much Fret and Worry
Do you find yourself reminiscing about past experiences? Are you living with any regret from the past? Or are you worrying about the future? Are you too preoccupied sometimes by what will happen in the time to come?
Sometimes the past and the future can cloud the present moment. Too much fret over the past or what will happen in the future can hinder our focus on life in this moment. Sometimes we can be distracted from being entirely focused on what is in front of us right now.
What helps you have clarity in the present moment? What do you need to help you stay focused?
Remember and Plan
There are times when the present moment is about telling stories from the past and remembering life experiences that shape who we are. There are also experiences of the present moment when we are planning for the future, for a project, goal, or trip sometime in the months or years ahead of us.
The moments of remembering and planning are part of our present moment thinking. The key is to not dwell too long in the past or worry too much about the future. Too much looking back or looking forward can become an obstacle to fully experiencing life happening right now.
Direction of the Present
The present moment is all we have, all we know at this point, and yet time keeps moving forward. It is challenging to remain focused on the present all the time.
What helps you keep the balance? What helps you thrive in the present moment? How does the past remembering and future planning help you live a life of gratitude (for life experiences you have encountered over your lifetime) and hope (for what will be ahead of you)?
Gratitude and Hope
You only have this day, 1,440 minutes, to live. What helps you live as fully as possible?
