In what ways are you reminded of love, community, and self-worth?
An Unexpected Indicator
On the drive to work this week, at the final stretch of the roadway before turning to the office, I noticed three new signs along the center island of the landscape between the lanes of traffic. All were the size of a political campaign or house sale yard sign. Yet, there were no indicators of sponsorship or advertising. The placards had only a simple message. The first one was this:
About a tenth of a mile later, there was a similar signpost. This one was:
And finally, there was a third sign, again about equally distant from the other two. Its message was this:
Love, Community, and Self-Worth
That was the total message – a plain and significant message of affirmation for anyone who noticed while driving or walking along this stretch of roadway. I smiled when I noticed the inclusiveness of the signs.
The word on the street is that there are positive reminders of love, community, and self-worth.
