To what voices do you listen throughout the day? Sometimes the sound of negative or demeaning voices whether outside or inside of us can resonate loudly. Other times, these criticisms are all we hear. How do we turn down the volume on the negative and increase the capacity of the positive and encouraging voices in our daily living? What are some of the ways we pay closer attention to the supportive messages?
Recently, I started a new role at work and moved to a different office space. I noticed affirmations posted on one side of the mirror in the women’s restroom on our floor of the building. They are yellow Post-It Notes with positive messages for anyone who stands in front of the mirror to read them. They are at the height that when you wash your hands at the sink and look into the mirror, the words of encouragement stare right back at you. The creativity touched me, and I took my time reading them. I smiled and spoke aloud, “this is really cool.”
Mirror Affirmations
At the side of the sink was a counter with a stack of blank Post-Its and markers for others to write a positive message. I decided to pay it forward by writing a note for the mirror of affirmations.
The collection envelopes the side area of the mirror. The messages are great conversation starters. Who knew that washing one’s hands in a women’s restroom could be such an empowering experience.
The notes are a clear reminder of our goodness, as women, as human beings, as adults working to do the best we can in life. The Post-Its are tangible reminders of our strengths, our goodness, of that to which we strive to live in our daily lives.
Reminders of Goodness
What positive messages do you hear throughout your day? What affirmations mirror back to you a note of goodness for your soul? In what ways do encouraging words of power infuse you with energy? Determination? Or uplift your spirit?
In what ways are you affirmed throughout your day? How do you pay forward that positive message to others?
I welcome your comments.

I have daily notes on my desk that I look at,but it never occurred to me to write affirmative notes to myself.
Great idea. So much nicer than the lists I write. Somehow ‘take out the trash’ or ‘empty the dishwasher’ isn’t very inspiring.
Today I’m writing ‘praying doesn’t have to be just words’.
Thanks ❤️

Love that about praying – doesn’t have to be only words.
