Galactic Goodness in the World
On my way to work this past week, I stopped by the lake in my neighborhood to ponder the beauty of the landscape before me. This pause-by-the-lake time has become a morning routine of meditation. On this particular day, I noticed two ducks swimming and gandering about the shore. Two small ducks and their graceful entry into the water made a significant ripple effect on the waters of the lake. Galactic goodness in two small ducks.
I began thinking about the impact of goodness and how we can make a difference for others. Actions of kindness do not have to be a loud splash of activity to make a difference. Intentional, quiet behaviors of grace can be immensely profound and lasting.
Those ducks on the water that morning were just being who they are – ducks. There was nothing special, or loud, or out of the ordinary by their being on the lake. Nonetheless, their movements and interactions created an impact on the water.
We can do the same by being real about who we are and by living from that core of integrity. Just this day, pay attention to the quiet moments of goodness around you, and step into the adventure of life with a genuine intention toward the good.
