How do you make an impact in the world? What is your ripple of kindness in the pool of life?
In today’s culture, there is no excuse for not being kind. There is no room for being too tired, not having enough time, or being above the level of showing kindness to another. There is no space for having a lackadaisical attitude about how we treat one another, no excuse for being rude, careless, or indifferent in how we interact with others.
Ripple of Kindness
One small act of kindness goes a long way, like a rolling ripple in the pool of life. If you are going to throw a rock into the waters of life, toss a stone of kindness, skip a pebble of respect for others. Better yet, unleash a boulder of genuine care for your neighbor and especially a stranger.
The Economy of Altruism
It seems that kindness does not generate enough revenue for today’s economy. There is no monetary cost to be cordial, and the cost of time to be caring is well worth the investment.
Kindness is a universal act that spreads across all borders, boundaries, walls, gates, barricades, and restrictions. It is not meant to be random. It is intended to be generous, non-discriminatory, and abundant.
Kindness is like the air we breathe and matters significantly. The act of caring begins with a small ripple in the pond, moving outward 360 degrees. Small actions can generate galactic goodness. Make a lasting impact with your acts of kindness, no matter how insignificant you may think they are.
Kindness without Borders
Practice consistency. Have the courage to be kind to all people, especially those who have a different opinion or those who live an unfamiliar experience than you. Make the generosity of caring one of your guiding principles in life, and then practice goodwill with as many people as possible throughout your day.
Leave benevolence along your trail in life without any expectation of return. Let kindness run its course, let it ripple through the pool of life at its own pace.
What is your go-to act of kindness that you share with others?
I welcome your comments.
