Strengthen Your Life Perspective
I enjoy social media and find it to be a great opportunity for communicating, checking in with family and friends, entertainment, and for learning. I also know that too much of a good thing can diminish one’s perspective on life. Sometimes we can lose ourselves by staring too long at a 3×5 screen that fits in the palm of one’s hand. Sometimes you need to take a break and soak in a different viewpoint to recapture a sense of inner balance and outlook.
Nearly every morning, I drive past a small lake that receives the sunlight from the eastern sky. I pay attention to how the lake and the sky interact with the daylight. The view offers a different nuance of beauty each day. The daily pause to stop and pay attention to the wonder of creation helps strengthen my life perspective. Nature helps me recover the bigger picture of life.
Give yourself permission to take a social media break now and then. It is OK to take mini breaks when you need to re-focus or re-set your inner mindset, and then go back to the technology you use in your daily routines. Give yourself moments to refresh your landscape of being.
